Radio On Berlin – The end of summer
Tuesday Oct 25, 2022
Tuesday Oct 25, 2022
Shephard and van Alebeek sat down in the junkie park right outside the Radio On studio in Kreuzberg. They continue the covid conversations amidst traffic noises, sirens, u-bahn traffic and butterflies fluttering around.
Icarus moments, homeless wasps annoying people eating cakes, there are lots of things to see in the park.
A bit of local history, demolition, Taliban in Afghanistan, meeting Momus at the Bahnhof and at the flee market, young urban people becoming older country people, Friedrichshain and Pankow, Curious Fox book store news, small talk in a big city, feeling comfortable in the warm sunshine during one of the last days of the Summer.
And so this recorded conversation gives the listener a chance to listen to voices of the past against a background of eternal traffic noises.radio-on-berlin.com

Since the start of the pandemic, Shephard and van Alebeek went outside to talk about the weather and assorted topics. During the war on covid19, the virus has become an invisible feature in their every day talk; it is like a pet that lives on political chaos, conspiracy theories, hope and delusion.
Shephard and van Alebeek are aware of a possible dystopian future that's approaching life on earth like a giant comet.
But there might be a way out. radio-on-berlin.comrecorded 28.6.21

About Us
Adrian & Rinus host Radio-On-Berlin.com. Based in legendary Kreuzberg & broadcasting 24/7 since 2013.
Radio On presents an insight into the current situation of the ultra-margins of contemporary music and non-institutional artistic developments.
The Culture Trip lists Radio On as one of the ten radio stations in Berlin you need to listen to.
Lo-fi radio for lo-fi people !
History:
Radio On was founded in 2006 in a former east German light bulb factory and Stasi lookout post over the Spree in Berlin. The first broadcast was recorded in Adrian Shephard's studio together with Rinus van Alebeek. The program was transmitted by Resonance FM in London as a part of the Framework-afield series.
We continued to play strange music and even more bizarre dialogues. Programmes were scheduled and transmitted irregularly via a covert server in the heart of Amsterdam. For years to come we were the only pirate station on the internet, funded by the Dutch Crown.
We made programs for other stations such as the radia network, but also for the oldest internet station dfm.nu; H.A.K. and cannibal caniche in France and radio zero's radiophonic festival in Lisbon.
A quantum leap in Radio On's existence was possible thanks to the help of sourcefabric. We were offered the free use of their software (a virtual radio station) and their Airtime server. This has made it possible to re-schedule programs from our vast archive and to be on air for 24 hours.
